New Season Shoes to Put a Spring in Your Step

Not to be too optimistic, but winter is almost over. Realistically, we're hovering somewhere between 'Second Winter' and 'Spring of Deception,' but it's light outside past 5 PM, and we've seen Easter candy on shelves, so that's enough to encourage us that brighter days are coming. Mary Janes 

Not to be confused with your old school shoes, this spring's Mary Jane celebrates grown-up academia with a cool-girl twist. Pair heeled Mary Janes with a long pleated or pencil skirt and ankle socks for a look designer Thom Browne would be proud of, or opt for the Mary Jane flat – just like a regular ballet flat but with a strap or T-bar detail – worn casually with jeans. Boat Shoes  

If you love a loafer, you'll likely be partial to its sister: the boat shoe. Equal parts preppy and nautical, and made cool again by Miu Miu and Loewe, we're expecting boat shoes to be everywhere this spring/summer – call it the 'Coastal Grandmother' effect.
