Meet Bethany Straub
Bethany Straub is a licensed cosmetologist, fashion stylist, and self-proclaimed shopping enthusiast with over 25 years of experience in the fashion and beauty industry. Her impressive career spans roles as a hairstylist, salon owner, hair replacement specialist, and stylist for both Nordstrom and Stitch Fix. Now, she’s thrilled to bring House of Colour to The Woodlands, combining her passion and expertise to help clients transform their personal style.
Bethany specializes in Color Analysis, Style, Shopping, and Closet Edits, delivering highly personalized results. She believes that wearing "your colors" not only enhances your natural beauty but also boosts your confidence. For her, true style is individual, practical, and achievable for everyone.

Bethany is also deeply rooted in family and community. She is the proud wife of Marine Corps Veteran and Purple Heart recipient Brent and the loving mother of Stella (14) and James (13). As a lifelong member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Ladies Auxiliary and an active participant in the National Charity League and National Charity Roundtable, she understands the importance of giving back.

Q: What is Color Analysis — and does it really work?
A: Color Analysis is a transformative experience that helps you discover the exact colors that make you look and feel your most vibrant, confident self. And yes — it really works!
Using precision-dyed drapes, we analyze the subcutaneous layers of your skin — without makeup, self-tanner, or artificial lighting — to observe how your skin reacts to color in its most natural state. Through this process, we determine whether your undertones are cool or warm, and identify the level of brightness or softness that suits you best.
You’ll SEE the difference for yourself — your skin will change in front of your eyes when we place the right (and wrong!) colors near your face. The wrong tones can emphasize redness, dullness, or under-eye shadows, while the right ones smooth, brighten, and lift your features naturally — no filters or filler required!
The end result? A curated seasonal palette that enhances your natural features, simplifies shopping, and makes building a cohesive wardrobe so much easier. When you wear the right colors, people notice you — not just your outfit.
Q: How long is the appointment, and what happens during it?
A: A Private Color Analysis session lasts about 2 hours. You’ll be draped in precision-dyed fabrics to determine your exact season, guided through House of Colour’s quick 90-second makeup routine (For our Women's Appointments), and given a full review of your color palette — including your best shades for clothing, makeup, and hair. You’ll leave with a personalized color fan, a seasonal booklet, and the confidence to shop and dress with clarity and ease.
Q: What is the cost?
A: Private Color Analysis sessions are $350 per person, or $325 per person for groups of 2–3 (Discounted Rate only available Monday–Friday). Group sessions are longer and include light snacks or lunch depending on size.
Q: Can you accommodate groups?
A: Absolutely! I can personally work with groups of up to three. Since our process is detailed and relies on natural daylight, timing is key to make sure each person gets the full experience. For larger groups, I’m happy to connect with my local House of Colour colleagues to help coordinate. Just get in touch, and we’ll work together to find the best solution!
Q: Does House of Colour offer other services?
A: Yes! In addition to Color Analysis, I also offer:
Advanced Colour – A deeper dive into your season for returning clients ready to expand their color confidence. Style Analysis – Learn how to dress your unique body, flatter your proportions, and create outfits with confidence and ease that align with your personal style and lifestyle.
Closet Edits – Choose between a true wardrobe clean-out or a “shop your own closet” session where we create new outfits and identify clothing gaps.
Advanced Makeup – Learn beginner techniques, day-to-night looks, smokey eyes, and more — includes the HOC brush set + 10% off makeup purchases!
Q: What is Style Analysis?
A: Style Analysis is a session dedicated to discovering your personal style! We assess your body architecture (shapes, proportions, and measurements) and uncover the best silhouettes, fabrics, cuts, patterns, and scale for you. Along with your body shape, we also consider your personality and lifestyle to determine your personal clothing personality.
You’ll learn how to dress for your unique shape, express your personality through your clothing choices, and create a wardrobe that fits seamlessly into your everyday life. Style Analysis also makes shopping so much easier, including online shopping! You’ll know exactly what fits will flatter your body, eliminate indecision, and give you the confidence to know what looks good on you.
Q: Do you come to my house for closet edits?
A: Yes! I come to your home for closet edits. Contact me if you are located outside of The Woodlands, as additional travel fees may apply.

My Services:
Get dressed every day with purpose, ease, and JOY! A color analysis provides you with life-changing information. Using precision-dyed drapes and my extensive training I will prove to you the value of knowing your season; a palette of colors customized to your unique undertones. We apply this information to women, men, and children of all races, ethnicities, and genders. Your season will never change so this is information you can carry with you for a lifetime.
There are three parts to every color session. First is our world-class, scientific draping process that we have refined for excellence and accuracy over the past four decades. Next, I will provide advice on jewellery, watches, glasses, and when applicable: hair and makeup based on your season. Our makeup products will take the guesswork out of choosing colors that highlight your natural beauty. Finally, we'll dive further into your season and choose the best colors for your casual and professional life, discovering your list of WOW colors.
You will leave your appointment with a fan of your seasonal swatches and a brochure full of tips and reminders specific to you that you can reference later to make shopping and wearing your new colors a confident experience!
You should arrive at your analysis free of spray tans and makeup for optimal accuracy. No pictures will be taken without permission, nor are they shared on social media without your consent.
Discover the science behind personal style by unlocking the power of you. During a style analysis, I'll teach you how to combine who you are with how you dress so you can step out into the world looking fabulous as your authentic self. We consider your proportions, personality, and preferences to give you a style framework- we call this a “Clothing Personality. You will confidently know which fabrics, prints, patterns, and accessories, necklines, details, and silhouettes flatter your unique body architecture best. Because we factor your personality into this framework, our style analysis goes a step further to help you identify how you feel in different styles and pieces so your clothing not only looks great but also represents who you are.
For this appointment, you’ll bring 5–10 items from your closet that you LOVE and 5–10 that make you wonder why you don’t feel good when putting them on. We'll use this information to help you discover why you gravitated toward and loved certain pieces and what it is about the others that weren't working for you, so you save time and money in the future! At House of Colour, we believe clothing needs to be adjusted to you, not the other way around. It is our goal to make sure you feel your most confident as who you are and how you look right now.
You’ll leave with a book with detailed information specific to you that we'll fill out during the appointment and a Clothing Personality card with keywords that will help guide you when shopping. If you've already had a color analysis, this card can be inserted into your fan which will make shopping easy and efficient!
This appointment is designed to take the knowledge you gained in your color and/or style appointment and apply it to your own specific wardrobe. I will help you filter through the pieces you don't wear so you can donate them and provide joy to someone else and keep your own closet free from clutter so you can better mix and match pieces in your wardrobe to create more looks with fewer items.
