“Before House of Colour my go to colors were black, navy, and grey because they made getting dressed quick and easy. I was never one to be confident in choosing what colors to wear. In fact, I HATED shopping. Although I am a winter and ”can" wear black, Jordan taught me how to embrace new colors and enhance my wardrobe and appearance through my beautiful jewel winter colors. 

Understanding makeup choices was also game changer for me! I always enjoyed makeup but would easily get overwhelmed by all the choices in stores. Knowing the colors of eyeshadows and lipsticks that best compliment me has elevated my enjoyment for makeup and how to use it to enhance my natural beauty. 

Doing the style class with Jordan was the final piece to the puzzle. It helped me understand why I am drawn to certain articles of clothing and how to put a full outfit together that compliments my body shape and personality. It has been fun to explore “my version” of dramatic classic and thanks to Jordan and my family, I am more confident that I have ever been! I have even come to enjoy shopping!"

I have had my colors done for a little over two years now and my style done just over a year ago and I have never felt more like myself, MY BEST SELF. 

Before my color analysis, I felt most comfortable wearing neutrals. Wearing color seemed a little flamboyant, usually only worn for ‘special occasions.’ After my color analysis, not only did I find which colors work for me to wear, Jordan gave me WOW colors, which were the best ones for me!

Knowing my subtype, sprinter winter, was exceptionally helpful. I love the icy colors! I feel fresh and happy when I wear them! Black is a very popular color, however, during my color analysis I found out navy is better than black for me. 

One of the biggest changes I made since my color analysis has been my hair. Before my color analysis, I thought I would only feel pretty with my hair platinum blonde since I have been blonde since I was a child. During my color analysis, Jordan mentioned, “Your natural hair color will always look good on you.” At my next hair appointment, my hairdresser brought in more of my natural hair color to create a ‘lived in’ look. I LOVE IT. Now in pictures and when I look in the mirror, I actually feel like myself with my hair more natural blonde.

My style was as I described simple, whie other people called it boring. I hardly wore any jewelry because it always seemed to be ‘too much.’ Being typed as a Natural Classic and given words to use as guidelines when piecing together outfits has brought me so much clarity. I feel like myself in understated formality. I understand and appreciate how the right accessories give me the easy elegance and naturally sophisticated look I've always wanted but didn't know how to achieve."

I came into my appointment wanting to be an autumn and I think I cheered when Jordan made her final analysis. The colors are so versatile and there’s something for every outfit and occasion. My love for autumn colors has bled into my home decor, my work, and so many places other than just my closet. They’ve taken over my life and I couldn’t be happier!"

"In my early twenties I was typed as a summer; during that time I felt I looked nice, as I matured, I felt there was something missing. Fast forward to my early fifties, I felt old, so I cut my hair and added some warm highlights, still felt old! When I heard about House of Colour, I jumped at the opportunity. The appointment with Jordan was a wonderful experience that I shared with my daughters. No longer dressing in muted colors I feel alive in my clear and saturated winter hues. 

Since working through the style analysis I have more confidence in what I want to wear. After being typed as a Natural Dramatic, I am training my eyes to look for clothes that are, unusual, extreme, striking, bold, large scale, and daring. For me, there is  a fine line between Dramatic and Romantic and in the past I would find myself swaying towards Romantic because I felt that was the “right” thing to wear as it was very feminine. Experiencing the style analysis gave me the tools and the identifying words to help me look for edgy, sleek, and bold Dramatic accents, which still enable me to feel feminine. At my stage in life one doesn’t make many new discoveries about one’s self so it was and has been exciting to challenge myself with my style…and I don’t feel old!"

"Being a spring is my favorite-I have some of the best neutrals yet such fun colors????Getting my colors done my junior year of high school was one of the best decisions! With senior pictures, dances, and big events coming up it felt great knowing I was looking my best. I definitely have confidence wearing my colors and everything in my closet goes together. I always encourage people to get theirs done as it is a tool you can use forever! I’m hoping to learn more about my style in the future as use that tool as well!"

"As an adult, discovering new things about yourself is both fun and intriguing. House of Color opened up a whole new world for me. In 2022, I attended an appointment with my mom, and my interest peaked as she had her colors done. Witnessing the transition between warm and cool tones was such a delightful experience. The appointment with Jordan felt like catching up with a friend; she made everyone feel comfortable and relaxed. I asked Jordan if I could also have my colors done during the appointment. I was leaning toward the summer season, and the summer blues on my skin confirmed this. I have always loved fashion and style; however, despite my efforts, sometimes my outfits fell flat. Now that I know that bright, warm, and vibrant colors make me appear ill or as if I'm on death’s door, I have embraced summer colors like mushroom, primrose, sea green, and coral red.

In my line of work, I had to think practically, and unfortunately, I rarely felt like myself—more like I was just wearing a uniform. As a Natural Romantic, I have so much more versatility. I lean towards a natural style at work, incorporating textures and accessories like a sparkly or jeweled headband. For events, I can fully embrace the romantic style with large floral prints, glitz and glamour, and all kinds of accessories. As a Natural Romantic, it's wonderful to be able to adopt either style. However, it’s especially fun when I can blend the two styles, allowing my creative juices to flow.

Knowing my style has also helped me with my body archetype.  At the appointment, I loved when Jordan said, “You don’t put an oval tablecloth on a rectangular table, and the same applies to a person’s body type.” In the past, I was self-sabotaging my looks by wearing high-waisted shorts/and jeans. As a long-legged person, I now look for mid-rise bottoms and dresses that don’t cut me in half by the waist. When I go shopping now, I have a set of tools that help me eliminate looks and/or trends that don’t align with my body archetype, instead, I focus on styles that will look flattering and are a better representation of me."

“In 2023, I walked into Jordan’s studio open to a fun experience. Not to be dramatic, but I had no clue a fun experience was going to be life changing! After seeing the autumn drapes on me, I was changed. I spent the next few months flipping my closet and experimenting with fun color combinations.

In 2024, Jordan did my style analysis. As a natural classic I love mixing casual, textured and structured pieces. Learning my body archetype has helped me understand what clothes best fit my body. I finally figured out why my mid calf boots weren’t my favorite! I learned the appropriate points of interest for me and that has helped me elevate my best colors. Color and style are the perfect pair!

Doing color and style with Jordan has given me a boost of confidence! Before my wardrobe was fine, but now it’s better! It’s colorful, fun and coordinates. The clothes are important, but my biggest advice for anyone who gets a color analysis… wear the lipstick!”
