My Story
Why House of Colour?
After 25 wonderful years at The University of Alabama in University Recreation, I started wondering what I would do next. I had been incredibly fortunate to work in a field where I got to help people feel better about themselves. People chose to walk through our doors, and so often, they walked back out feeling better than when they came in. I wondered, Where else would I find work that feels this meaningful?
Then I experienced House of Colour for myself.
I went to a color analysis with two friends, and it completely blew me away. I couldn’t believe what a game-changer it was. As a redhead with blue eyes, I had always assumed I belonged in soft blues and greens. Boy, was I wrong! Seeing myself come alive in my WOW colours was unbelievable—and seeing the transformation in my friends was just as amazing. For the first time, I felt a new level of confidence and certainty about what worked for me. I knew my season, I knew my colours, and I loved what I saw.
I went home with my color fan and immediately started looking at my closet through a completely different lens. I ended up getting rid of a lot of clothes (not necessarily recommended!), but once I had seen what the right colours could do, I couldn’t unsee it. And then I noticed something interesting: so many of the clothes I was getting rid of were things I rarely wore. I had never really understood why I didn’t feel good in them. Suddenly, it all made sense.
Then came my Style appointment.
I was buying the right colors, but some of my new clothes still didn’t quite work. Why? My stylist asked me to bring in a few pieces that should have worked but somehow didn’t—a favorite pair of jeans and my perfect yellow sweater. She showed me exactly what was off, and it made perfect sense.
The whole experience was transformative. I now get dressed with confidence, and I’ve taken so much of the decision fatigue and guesswork out of getting ready each day.
Now, as a retired empty-nester, I have the opportunity to welcome others into my beautiful home studio and walk alongside them through their own House of Colour experience. I know firsthand how impactful this process can be, and I can’t wait to help you discover your colours, your style, and the confidence that comes with knowing what works for you.

My Studio
Welcome to my studio! Just inside the front door, you’ll find a cozy, welcoming space designed to help you feel comfortable and at ease from the moment you arrive. Located in a quiet neighborhood and filled with beautiful natural light, the studio provides a relaxed setting for your House of Colour experience. There’s extra seating if you’d like to bring someone along for your session, along with snacks, drinks, and a convenient bathroom just next door. My goal is to create a space where you can relax, enjoy the experience, and focus on discovering your best colours.

Color Analysis

Get dressed every day with purpose, ease, and JOY! A color analysis provides you with life-changing information. Using precision-dyed drapes and my extensive training I will prove to you the value of knowing your season; a palette of colors customized to your unique undertones. We apply this information to women, men, and children of all races, ethnicities, and genders. Your season will never change so this is information you can carry with you for a lifetime.
There are three parts to every color session. First is our world-class, scientific draping process that we have refined for excellence and accuracy over the past four decades. Next, I will provide advice on jewelry, watches, glasses, and when applicable: hair and makeup based on your season. Our makeup products will take the guesswork out of choosing colors that highlight your natural beauty. Finally, we'll dive further into your season and choose the best colors for your casual and professional life, discovering your list of WOW colors.
You will leave your appointment with a fan of your seasonal swatches and a brochure full of tips and reminders specific to you that you can reference later to make shopping and wearing your new colors a confident experience!
You should arrive at your analysis free of spray tans and makeup for optimal accuracy. No pictures will be taken without permission, nor are they shared on social media without your consent.

Cancellation & Reschedule Policy

All bookings are non-refundable.
Need to reschedule? Please give at least 48 hours’ notice so I can offer your appointment to someone on the waitlist. Your session fee will be transferred to a new date.
Feeling under the weather? Your health (and mine) comes first! If you’re sick, please stay home. I’ll gladly move your appointment, even on very short notice, without penalty.
Late changes: Rescheduling with less than 48 hours’ notice and/or multiple reschedules will incur a $100 re-booking fee.
No-shows or same-day cancellations for reasons other than illness will result in forfeiture of the full session fee.
Style Analysis

Discover the science behind personal style by unlocking the power of you. During a style analysis, I'll teach you how to combine who you are with how you dress so you can step out into the world looking fabulous as your authentic self. We consider your proportions, personality, and preferences to give you a style framework- we call this a “Clothing Personality. You will confidently know which fabrics, prints, patterns, and accessories, necklines, details, and silhouettes flatter your unique body architecture best. Because we factor your personality into this framework, our style analysis goes a step further to help you identify how you feel in different styles and pieces so your clothing not only looks great but also represents who you are.
For this appointment, you’ll bring 5–10 items from your closet that you LOVE and 5–10 that make you wonder why you don’t feel good when putting them on. We'll use this information to help you discover why you gravitated toward and loved certain pieces and what it is about the others that weren't working for you, so you save time and money in the future! At House of Colour, we believe clothing needs to be adjusted to you, not the other way around. It is our goal to make sure you feel your most confident as who you are and how you look right now.
You’ll leave with a book with detailed information specific to you that we'll fill out during the appointment and a Clothing Personality card with keywords that will help guide you when shopping. If you've already had a color analysis, this card can be inserted into your fan which will make shopping easy and efficient!
If Color Analysis teaches you what to wear, think of Style Analysis as teaching you how to wear it! During this transformational appointment you will discover how to dress your body shape and proportions in the most flattering way - but also how to reflect your inner personality through your clothes. We will review your existing wardrobe, your lifestyle, shopping habits and budget to develop a style that is authentic and unique to you. At the end of the style appointment you will have a detailed understanding of the styles and shapes of clothing that work best for you and why – fully equipped with the knowledge you need to start building your own capsule wardrobe that works for your lifestyle and budget.
Although we do not offer refunds, we are happy to reschedule you if something comes up that is out of your control.
