They chose amazing clothes for me to try on, provided feedback about the pieces as I tried them on, and came up with a completely transformed look for my closet. Where do I even start? This experience was so much more than I originally thought it would be. I was inspired to get a color analysis by a friend who had nothing but stellar things to say about Magan and Dutch. And, of course, she was right.

I am a person who wore a lot of black and was cosplaying as a Winter and Autumn (I don't want to talk about the amount of olive and black I had in my closet). There is no surprise why I never felt like my clothes really looked, or felt, great. Turns out- I am a warm Spring. The warm Spring colors made such a huge difference. I even found some lip colors that really do complement my skin tone. In the past, I have purchased lipstick and it just collects dust but since I had my color analysis, I have been wearing lipstick (even red lipstick which is something I never thought would happen). Magan is well-versed in color analysis and is a joy to be around. If you are debating about whether or not to get a color analysis- JUST DO IT! Book the appointment ASAP.

The whole process from start to finish was amazing and so much fun! Magan and Dutch made me feel so comfortable and really opened my eyes to a world of color- so much so that I booked a wardrobe refresh with them. Clothes that actually fit and are in my color palette are life-changing (for me anyway). I left feeling better than I have in a long time. Dutch is an expert and so full of knowledge about fit and clothing construction.

Not only are Magan and Dutch knowledgable- they're absolutely the best people to be around. I drove from College Station to Pflugerville for my appointments and I would do it again. Book that appointment!

The following review is my attempt to express how amazing my experiences have been without sounding like a maniacal obsessed person. Buckle up, it's a long one.

I was at the “giving up on fashion” stage — ready to wear black and white forever (very Steve Jobs). Then I heard about House of Colour from a friend who I complimented on this incredible bright coral dress. Naturally, I had to know more. One rabbit hole later, I found myself scrolling through every HOC page in the area and was instantly drawn to Magan and Dutch — they just seemed (1) fun & funny, (2) knowledgeable, and (3) genuinely good people. Spoiler: I was right on all three counts.

They’re located just north of Austin (technically Pflugerville), but don’t let that deter you. No matter where you live, driving for good things is always worth it — and bonus, parking is easy and free.

I booked a color analysis session for myself and my husband — not knowing if he’d be into it and not really wanting to do it alone. To my surprise, he had a blast, and I’ve loved seeing him branch out with his colors too! Magan is truly an expert in her field and has such an easy, encouraging way of helping you see yourself in a new light — in my case, a warmer one (that's a little "season" joke you'll understand after you book with her). My husband and I both walked away delighted and empowered— it’s not every day you learn something new about a face and body you’ve lived with your whole life.

Finding out I’m an Autumn was such an eye-opener. I don’t get black or white — but I get chocolate and oyster so neener neener! Now that I’ve embraced my season, I actually feel like a more luxurious version of myself — and a more adventurous, warmer version too. My makeup confidently fits my skin tone, my hair color has shifted to a neutral/warm tone (as recommended...and lordy it really does look better), my jewelry is mostly gold, rose gold or mixed metals if I'm including silver, and my closet is slowly filling with my 3-star colors. Honestly, life is just more fun!

You don't just leave with knowledge- you leave with several guides, your 1, 2, and 3 star colors and my favorite- a handy-dandy color swatch you can whip out in your own closet or while you’re shopping, even if its online shopping. I took photos of all my colors and keep them in an iPhone album (though it’s always best to assess in person), and it’s wild how much I think about it now — it truly changes the way you see things. I also left with some new blush and lip colors. Unlike the piles of unused lip colors I have in my drawers, I actually wear these and get so many compliments.

Since my essentially non-existent wardrobe (hello, scrubs life) needed serious help, I also booked a personal shopping session at Nordstrom — and that experience sealed the deal.

Dutch is a styling genius, fully supported by Magan — a true color wizard. I’ll admit, at first the sizes, styles, and colors pulled were out of my comfort zone — very few I would have chosen for myself (but that's the point right!?). I was already super trusting of Dutch and Magan and the process, so I jumped in despite a few seconds of thinking none of these clothes were going to look right on me. Once I tried everything on, I realized they'd absolutely nailed it. I just hadn’t yet embraced my body type, my season or the colors I thought I didn’t like.

But, let me be clear that it wasn't all rainbows and flowers- I got some tragic news that I should skip dresses with pockets ???? and start tucking in my shirts (which, annoyingly, does look better).

I’ve since talked a few friends into going — and they’ve all loved it too.

If you’re even slightly on the fence, just do it. You won’t regret it. It’s fun, transformative, and surprisingly practical, worth every penny. *And, I need more people to talk colors and seasons with!!

In April 2022 I had my color analysis done with Magan and first, what a JOY it was to meet her in person after years of knowing her online! The number of times I noticed (and commented on) her style & outfits and how they complemented her first got me interested in this process. I first tried a cheaper virtual analysis and while it identified my season, it left me with more questions than clarity. Being a first time mom is hard, throw twins in the mix and you are stuck on a loop of "there's two of them?!!!". My color analysis was such a fun splurge and way to treat myself after two years of survival mode. Walking into my closet to get dressed just felt blah. I wanted a mom “uniform” but had no idea where to start. After my color analysis I went home and looked in my closet and realized I have NO color in my everyday choices. My wardrobe predominantly contained white, black and grey tops because "they go with everything" and it wasn't helping me feel confident when I got dressed. Between Magan's teachings, color swatches and finding HoC "Spring" influencers on Instagram I'm slowly training my eye to find spring colors.

I also did a closet clean out with Dutch a few months after my analysis and he is just a flood of sunshine. He is part therapist, part hype man and part sage. I had great pieces but they just needed some tailoring to make them have the right fit. I could count on 1 hand the amount of times I had visited a tailor before Dutch and now I say I go about once a month to tweak something new or refine something I already have.

Let me start off with, I am not girly, I lack any fashion sense, and make up and I have a love/hate relationship. I booked a color consultation with Magan because I have seen her color journey on IG and have been interested since I have seen her transition into her bright beautiful summer colors. I did it as an early mother's day/anniversary gift to myself. I have severe anxiety about making any effort that might bring attention to myself or be a bit girly, but Magan made me feel so comfortable. Her set up at her home was lovely, warm and inviting. Magan was accommodating, authentic, and gave me confidence. It was hard for me in the beginning to see what she was seeing in the tones, etc but towards the end it was extremely clear what colors made me feel absolutely radiant.

I immediately was imagining clothes in the gorgeous colors she was putting on me. I had followed Magan and HOC on IG for a while, and knew it was something I had definitely wanted to do. I was so lucky my sister-in-law was able to join me for an appointment, too. Bringing a friend makes everything twice as fun! Magan was great, so welcoming and genuinely excited to help us start our color journey. I don’t want to be overly dramatic here, but getting my colors/style done has been one of the most transformative things I have done in my lifetime.

House of Colour is a UK based company with franchises in the US. Magan’s location is phenomenal. For context, I have sat in on five different color consultations with family and friends over the past year And also got my personal style done – which is a four hour class.

First of all, the process is a blast. Magan and Dutch make a great team. They are funny, sweet, compassionate, organized and talented. It’s a joy to be around them.

For colour analysis, It’s amazing to watch the process unfold and such a scientific way that you see for yourself why you are the season that you are. By the end of the appointment, people are transformed with information.

The style appointment I did was eye-opening. Now, in addition to knowing which colors are best for me, I know which necklines, hemlines, shoes, purses, hairstyles, jewelry, prints will flatter me the most.

After these investments, shopping is literally a breeze. I can go directly to the colors that flatter me and then look for the cuts that also do. Then I can make a decision whether I want to buy it off the rack if it fits as is or if it’s worth having altered.

If you are on the fence about getting either of these services, I would not hesitate for one second.

Taking my 7-year-old to get his colors done with Magan was a fantastic experience. She is so natural and at ease and was able to pull conversation from my son, even though he was quiet and intent on trying to "be cool". I had a feeling he was a winter and getting confirmation from her trained eye was so helpful. I have known Magan for several years and noticed she always looked so healthy and vibrant in her colorful outfits. Once I realized she was a HOC consultant, I knew I had to give it a try. I loved the one on one attention as we discovered my season. It was amazing to see how the right makeup really brought out my features. What a life-changing experience. I've never been comfortable wearing bright colors and have always felt completely lost when it comes to makeup. As a result, I've lived in neutrals my whole life and never got creative or fun with eyeshadow or lip/blush colors. I've just been super basic. Like so many other reviews, I highly recommend Magan and her services!  She and Dutch made the experience very enjoyable.  I left feeling beautiful and confident.  I booked the appointment as a birthday present and felt like it was the ultimate gift!  I am a mother of two small children.  Investing in myself isn't always the easiest in this busy season.  Magan has a ton of tips for fashion and makeup.  Her makeup tutorial was fantastic!  She has a realistic approach to a busy woman's routine.  The makeup looked amazing and was done so quickly.  I made this appointment with a friend and we both agreed it was worth every penny.

I booked Magan's services for myself and my niece for a fun weekend get together. I had recently relocated and wanted to rebuild my wardrobe but wanted professional advice for what colors would look best on me. Magan and Dutch made us feel at home right away and were professional and expert at explaining how to make the most of your best colors. The makeup was an added service I didn't even expect but complements the entire appointment so you walk out with all the tools to look your best! I booked a color service, assuming it would a waste time and money. How wrong I was. I loved the 1x1 engagement Magan and Dutch delivered. I was shocked to discover I am not a summer or spring but a winter person, even though my closet screams winter. How odd. Not only are they inclusive, but they make me feel at home and free to be myself. That is remarkably rare to happen to me. Now, more than ever, I love to gift experiences. I cannot think of a more intentional and personalized experience to gift than a Color Analysis with Magan and Dutch at HOC Pflugerville.

My journey into color analysis began in March of 2024. My husband and I did a joint color analysis session and learned we were both winters! While I had been doing my research into how color is an actual science, my husband wasn’t on board until he was in the chair and saw it firsthand. He noticed how certain colors within his season can enhance his jawline and cheekbones, and now he reaches for his burnished winter wardrobe when he knows he has a big event coming up. Meanwhile, I’m stopped on the streets and given compliments on how well a color suits me when I’m wearing my “wow” colors!

I’m on a mission to gift every woman in my life (and man, if they show interest!) a Color Analysis experience, and more specifically, an experience with Magan and Dutch. My mom and sister have already explored their seasons at HOC Pflugerville and each had an amazing experience. Next up is my niece! If you are at all interested in the color analysis process or looking to dig deeper into your own personal style, I cannot recommend doing this more. It's about much more than color! A friend and I had a lovely afternoon with Magan and Dutch, talking through what it means to look and feel your best, the complex labyrinth that is clothes shopping, and more. Going in confused about what I may be, I was still a little surprised to be an Autumn. My closet needs work! But I'm also viewing this as the first step toward getting to know myself again in the process of becoming comfortable and confident with who I am in the world. I stopped all self-care while getting through a big life event, so kicked off my self-care with color analysis. I wanted to understand my colors before getting my hair, nails etc done. Magan was very professional and I had a blast determining my colors and getting a 90 second makeup routine. I’m so excited to go shopping and pick out the right clothing for me! My mom got her colors done a few months ago and I tagged along because it sounded like a fascinating process. By the end of her session, the rest of the family was eager to get their colors done too! Magan and Dutch are both delightful, welcoming, and provide a beautifully safe environment! Finding my colors truly felt like celebrating myself, not “fixing.” Magan does such a wonderful job at letting you know that YOU are gorgeous and unique, and it is a color’s responsibility to remind you of that. She and Dutch were also very comfortable and flexible with my disability, especially when it came time to try makeup. Again, their philosophy was that makeup is about your expression and you should do what you are comfortable with! You will chat, laugh a lot, love yourself a little more, and get a cuddle or two (or ten) from their adorable four-legged office assistants Copper and Bradley!

Since my style appointment, I have been meditating on and practicing my style. (By the way, I am so glad you have at least two people do style class together - it’s been wonderful having my friend to talk this out with!) As I was walking through Nordstrom recently, I realized why style has been difficult for me: I’m drawn to the things that aren’t for me because it’s the person/body that I *want* to be instead of who I am. As sad as it is, I’ve bought into what society has told me is beautiful and I’ve tried to be that. However, God did not make me 5’10, tiny waisted, and little chested. And I don’t believe He makes mistakes. Therefore, I need to get on board with who I am! These thoughts solidified as I was in the shoe section. I have absolutely no problem owning my shoes and wearing them confidently. In fact, I probably get more compliments on my feet/shoes than I do on my clothes. Maybe I should have taken that hint before now. ???? It’s been a few weeks since my style class, and I am really starting to understand what I’m looking for and what I’m looking at. I’m cleaning out my closet with confidence, I’m wearing my clothes with confidence, and I’m shopping with confidence. Thank you both for not throwing information out at us and leaving us to figure the rest out - I’m grateful this is a journey you mentor us through!

I just got back from my color analysis & absolutely LOVED it!! Magan & Dutch are fun to see in action. Magan knows her colors & we totally agree on my "wow" colors. I have been thinking about doing a color analysis for about a year but the price tag of the session was a little daunting. However I decided to bite the bullet and do this with a friend and oh my gosh I’m so glad I did! This analysis has completely changed the way I shop. Two of my granddaughters had their color analysis done in Florida when they were visiting their Aunt and Uncle in May. They loved it and have embraced their Autumn season!
